Wimbledon (1/8 final): Djokovic – Garin and Fucsovics – Rublev

Novak Djokovic – Cristian Garin

Novak Djokovic knows he didn’t have a great match against Denis Kudla last Friday and maybe that could give Cristian Garin some ideas.

I still have a hard time not seeing the world number 1 win. Cristian Garin has too many weaknesses on this surface to not imagine Novak Djokovic exploiting them.

Prediction: Novak Djokovic

Low risk

Marton Fucsovics – Andrey Rublev

This will be the fourth time this year that these two men will face each other and this should not please Marton Fucsovics who had told Andrey Rublev that he hoped not to play him anymore. It must be said that the Russian is a bit of a bête noire.

It will be the first time that these two players will face each other on grass. Moreover, Marton Fucsovics has been playing at an interesting level since the beginning of this competition and we can imagine him challenging Andrey Rublev in this match in 3 sets.

Andrey Rublev seems to me to be in a better position to pass this round. The level of aggression he should bring to this match will be much higher than Marton Fucsovics’ previous opponents. This could leave the Hungarian a little too often on the defensive, which is far from making him comfortable.

Prediction: Andrey Rublev

Medium risk
